Philippians 4:6-8 KJV Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Have you ever heard the phrase, "Hurry up and wait!"? Sometimes life can seem like it's going slowly in a hurry. The very things, careers, spouse, relationships and finances you desire seem like they may never evolve. Well, you're only in a waiting season! The thing that really matters in your waiting season is how you wait.
The Apostle Paul states in Philippians 4:6 to be anxious for nothing! In your waiting, don't allow the enemy to feed thoughts of fear, doubt, and even thoughts that question God. Instead, while you wait, consecrate yourself, your mind and your soul with prayer and righteous thoughts. Feed your soul and spirit the Word of God constantly. Then, the peace of God will come and guard your heart and your mind!
The Apostle Paul also adds in verse 6 that while you're in prayer, be in prayer with thanksgiving. Prayer works together with praise! Neither of these supernatural works are a "standalone feature" for the walk of the believer. While you wait with prayer, praise! Praise God that He isn't giving you everything in a hurry to allow you to harm yourself. Praise God that He is giving you the things you desire slowly because He knows when you'll be ready to handle them. Praise God knowing that by faith you already have what you've been praying for!
While you're waiting with prayer and praise be sure to keep your thought-life pure! With all these keys working together on your behalf, you're sure to have the peace of God while you wait and you'll see what you desire in no time! Wait on it. His promises are yes and amen!
